PMC, Copper and Bronze Jewelry
What is PMC?
What is PMC, you ask? Precioius Metal Clay or PMC for short is a fairly new product on the market. It is a unique form of silver or gold that allows me to form metal by hand. It is soft and pliable, just like clay or playdough. Once I have created my design, I dry out the clay so that it hardens. Once it is dry I will fire it in my jeweler's kiln. All of the organic binders, such as water, will be burned away leaving pure (99.9%) silver or 22 K gold. The clay comes in bronze and copper as well, and I have designed jewelry with all of them. It is what I enjoy doing the most out of all of my work, because I am able to make it 100% mine from start to finish.
Once the clay has been fired, you can polish it to give it a high shine, brush it to give it the "brushed" apperance, you can patina it, giving it various colors, and you can even paint or enamel it. The possibilities are endless.
